Disney is planning on a new version of its 1979 sic-fi movie "The Black Hole," and has already hired a writer according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Jon Spaihts, the co-writer of "Prometheus" has been hired along with director Joe Kosinski, who is behind the new sci-fi film "Oblivion."
In the original movies, the exploratory ship, the USS Palomino, discovers a black hole with a lost ship, the USS Cygnus, just outside its event horizon. The crew of the Palomino try to figure out the mystery of this ship and come across eminent scientist Hans Reinhardt who has been missing for past 20 years. He holds the crew hostage with the intent of going through the Black Hole.
