Marvel characters to star in new arena show in 2014

Marvel characters will be coming to arenas around the country in a new live action shows as part of a deal between Feld Entertainment Inc. and Marvel Entertainment.

Feld Entertainment is best known for producing Disney on Ice, Disney Live and Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus.

The deal between the two allows the companies to produce a new show that brings Marvel characters, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, The Avengers and X-Men, together in one place to defend the Earth against threats from the most fearsome villains in the Marvel Universe.
The new show will stat in July 2014 on an 85-city North American tour, according to a news release.

“This collaboration with Marvel is a tremendous milestone for our business that will give us access to some of the most iconic and revered Super Heroes ever created,” Feld Entertainment Chairman and CEO Kenneth Feld. “It builds upon our 33-year long partnership with Disney, Marvel’s parent company. This partnership demonstrates Marvel’s confidence in Feld Entertainment to present their most admired characters in this new channel.”

“This new live-action production will bring the greatest Marvel Super Heroes from the movie screen and pages of our comic books into a spectacular live tour," Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada said in a release.
