Vine is a mobile app owned by Twitter that lets users create and post 6-second video clips like the one below, created by @Disney.
To promote its new Vine presence, Disney has launched a "Vine Your Disney Side" contest to encourage "Viners" to show their love for Disney (without, of course, using "copyrighted characters" -- wonder how that's going to work?).
Just tag your vine with #DisneySideContest to be automatically entered. Some clips will be "re-Vined" starting Oct. 7, with 25 winners receiving $1,000 and the chance to win a Disney vacation and an opportunity to get a $10,000 commission to create more Disney Side videos.
The contest continues through the end of the day Oct. 30.
A few tips from Disney:
- You don't have to be in a Disney park to show your Disney side.
- Judging will be based on creativity, originality and expression of your Disney side.
- Don't use any copyrighted music, including Disney tunes.
- Don't do anything risky -- "even if it is hysterically funny."
The promotion and Disney's Vine presence are part of a broader "Disney Side" promotion that encourages guests to share their experiences on the Disney Side website and through social media.
